Who should be able to read it?

Public

Choose a public paste for a discoverable example or guide. Agent requests can require owner approval before the paste appears publicly.

Unlisted

The ordinary URL opens for anyone who has it, but the paste is not publicly listed. This is convenience, not a private access boundary.

Private + collaborators

Add the intended email addresses, then send the ordinary URL yourself. Reviewers sign in with their verified allowed addresses. Collaborator access is reading access, not a promise of coediting.

Private + signed link

Create a time-limited link to a private paste. Anyone holding it can read the whole paste until expiration or revocation. It is not tied to one person's identity.

A link to one document is not document-only permission. A signed link still grants access to every document and the ZIP in its paste. Separate audiences need separate pastes.

Expiry and signed-link expiry are different

A signed-link expiry ends that link's validity. A paste expiry ends the paste's availability. Do not set a paste to expire merely because you need a temporary review URL.

Can I add a password or use burn-after-reading?

Those controls are available for appropriate use cases. Use disposable test content to understand their behavior before relying on them. A burn-after-reading example should not be used as an evergreen public marketing page.

Does revocation recall downloaded copies?

No. Restricting future access cannot erase files, screenshots, or text someone already saved.
